The “Kalki 2898 AD Trailer” by Nag Ashwin was released on Monday, June 10. The film is based on Hindu scriptures and is set in the post-apocalyptic era of 2898 A.D. With a budget of Rs 600 crore, it is the most expensive Indian film ever made.
Nag Ashwin’s Telugu science-fiction film “Kalki 2898 A.D.” is set in a futuristic city called Kashi in the year 2898. The trailer screened in Hyderabad shows Prabhas as Bhairava, who teams up with an AI car called Bujji, and Deepika Padukone fighting the bad guys. Amitabh Bachchan plays Ashwathama, and Kamal Haasan plays the villain. The film also stars Disha Patani, Pashupati, Anna Ben, Sashwat Chatterjee and Rajendra Prasad.
What Does the Trailer Reveal?
In less than a few hours since it dropped on YouTube, the trailer had clocked more than 2 million views.
The trailer opens with Kashi, which is said to be the only city left in reality. Chaos has spread due to an evil ruler played by Ashwath Chatterjee. People are looking for a savior. Amitabh Bachchan’s character Ashwatthama senses a powerful force coming, and it is connected to Padma played by Deepika Padukone.
In the trailer, when the bad guys chase Padma and her unborn child, both Ashwatthama and the fun-loving hero Bhairava (played by Prabhas) come to her aid. The film has some great action scenes from both Amitabh and Prabhas. We also see Disha Patani fighting Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan, who looks quite different without hair, talks about the coming of a new era.

He shared his feelings about making the film and said that it is a huge deal as it is the most expensive Indian film ever made. On Instagram Stories, Nag Ashwin wrote about his journey of making this science-fiction drama. He wrote “It has taken a long time to get to today… But I hope it will be something we can be proud of as Telugu people, Indians and film lovers… Our whole team is waiting to share this world with you.
