Yamaha XSR 155: Features
The Thai-spec XSR155 features a round digital instrument cluster, which could be retained for the Indian market. It also features LED headlamps, LED taillamps and side-stand engine inhibitors for convenience. However, to make it more affordable in India, some of the premium elements could be replaced with cost-effective options.
Stylistically, the XSR155 gives off a retro and classic vibe, reminiscent of the iconic RX100, with a retro-looking round headlamp, vintage-style seat cover, and several vintage design elements that somewhat reflect the charm of Yamaha’s classic RX series. This motorcycle combines contemporary functionality with nostalgic design elements to attract riders looking for a unique and fashionable urban riding experience.
Yamaha XSR155 Price and competition
The Yamaha XSR155 will feature a BS6-compliant engine that will produce the same power output as the R15 V3 2.0 and MT15 available in India. It is priced around Rs 1.3 lakh ex-showroom and will enter the market competing directly with the Hero XPulse 200T.
This positioning puts the XSR155 in a competitive segment for urban and adventure-oriented riders, offering modern performance with a retro-inspired design. With its BS6 compliance and competitive pricing, Yamaha aims to attract enthusiasts looking for a stylish and capable motorcycle in this segment.
