It will also provide multiple powertrain options to appeal to a wider range of customers.

Mahindra Thar 5-door – Engine Specifications
The Thar 5-door, being heavier, will likely require stronger engines. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine, which will likely be tuned like the Scorpio-N. The petrol engine could generate around 200 horsepower and 370Nm of torque, while the diesel could produce around 172 horsepower and 370Nm of torque. It will be offered with manual and automatic transmissions with 4×2 and 4×4 drive options.
Mahindra Thar 5-door – What’s New?
One of the best design features of the Thar 5-door is its door handles. Unlike most cars, the rear door handles are not placed on the doors but on the C-pillar like the Maruti Swift. The front grille has a new H-style pattern that is split, giving it a different and fresh look. If you look closely, there are markings on the front windshield that could indicate the presence of rain-sensing wipers. The rear of the car looks similar to the previous model, but the Ultimate version could include a roof-mounted spoiler with a hidden rear wiper underneath it.
Features and Interior
The Mahindra Thar Armada promises a spacious and luxurious cabin with its long wheelbase. It gets a dual-tone dashboard, white seat upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, electric and ventilated front seats, automatic AC, and rear AC vents. Other highlights include a rear passenger reading lamp, 6 airbags as standard, Level 2 AIDS, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, LED lighting, auto-dimming IRVM, adjustable headrests, a cooled glovebox, and pillar-mounted inner door handles.
Mahindra Thar 5-door: platform, suspension, powertrains
The Thar 5-door will share a ladder frame chassis with the Scorpio N, which will likely result in the same wheelbase. It is likely to feature a five-link suspension setup for stable rear axle movement and a Watts linkage like the Ford Endeavour. Like the Scorpio N, it may also feature frequency-dependent dampers for smooth handling over bumps and corners.
Under the hood, expect the same engines as the Scorpio N: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel with identical power outputs. Mahindra plans to offer both 4WD and 2WD options for the Thar 5-door, keeping a wider audience in mind.
