BMW Motorrad India has launched the R 1300 GS in the Indian market. This is the manufacturer’s new flagship motorcycle available in India at a starting price of Rs 20.95 lakh. It is available in 1 variant and 4 different colors, with the high-end model priced starting at Rs 20.95 lakh. The bike is powered by a 1300cc BS6-2.0 engine that produces 147 PS of power and 149 Nm of torque. It has front and rear disc brakes. The bike weighs 237 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 19 liters.
BMW R 1300 GS: Engine
The new BMW R 1300 GS features BMW’s most powerful boxer engine ever built for a regular production bike. With a capacity of 1,300cc, this boxer engine produces 144bhp at 7,750rpm and a peak torque of 149Nm at 6,500rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox located below the engine, making the engine more compact than before.

- The new BMW R 1300 GS is powered by a 1300cc liquid-cooled flat-twin boxer engine. This engine can produce 145 horsepower at 7750rpm and 149 Newton-meters of torque at 6500rpm. This is 9PS and 6Nm more than the R 1250 GS.
- The main frame of the new BMW R 1300 GS is made of sheet metal, while the sub-frame is made of die-cast aluminum.
- The EVO-Telelevever front suspension with smooth front wheel travel has 190 mm of travel and the EVO-Paralever rear suspension with smooth rear wheel travel has 200 mm of travel.
- Two 310 mm disc brakes with 4-piston radial calipers at the front and one 285 mm disc brake with 2-piston floating caliper at the rear.
- The BMW R 1300 GS has a 19-litre fuel tank, which is about 1 litre less than the R 1250 GS
- It also gets a TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity.

Talking about the look of the BMW R 1300 GS is available in different colors and setups. You can choose from options like Light White, GS Trophy, Option GS Tramuntana, and Triple Black. Despite these variations, its design remains the same across the range.
BMW R1300 GS – variants
The base variant of the R 1300 GS comes in light white and features an electrically adjustable windscreen, dynamic suspension adjustment, and multiple ride modes. The Triple Black 1 pack offers additional features like pannier fasteners, hand protector extensions, chrome exhaust, and comfort seats. The Triple Black 2 option includes an adaptive ride height feature.
The BMW R 1300 GS Trophy variant is designed for sportier riding on rough terrain and comes with a beautiful color scheme while packing features such as BMW Headlight Pro, gold cross-spoke wheels (optional), and more. The Option 719 variant has a special milled clutch and brake levers, ignition coil cover expansion tank lids, and more. The top-spec variant features a green color scheme with gold cross-spoke rims and also includes adaptive cruise control.
