Tata Motors has announced its upcoming electric cars to be launched soon. They may plan to launch the Curvv. ev and Harrier. ev sometime this fiscal year, FY25. In FY 2026, Tata Motors will launch the Avinya and Sierra electric vehicles. The Avinya was shown as a concept at the 2022 Auto Show, and Tata may likely introduce additional cars under the Avinya brand.
Tata Curvv spied: Expected powertrain Specifications
The electric version of the Curve may come with two types of motor setups, one with a single motor for front-wheel drive and the other with dual motors for all-wheel drive. These models are expected to cover around 400-500 km on a single charge. Recent spy photos show that at least one test model has a conventional gasoline engine.
For the petrol-powered Curve, Tata plans to use a new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. This engine can produce 123 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque. Apart from this, Tata will also offer the 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Nexon model in the Curve, which is capable of producing 114 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque. They also plan to introduce versions of the SUV that run on compressed natural gas (CNG) in the future.

The price of the Tata Curve is yet to be officially revealed. However, industry expectations suggest that the base model is expected to start at Rs 10.5 lakh, while the top-end variant could be priced up to Rs 20 lakh. These figures are not confirmed until the official pricing is announced by Tata Motors.
What engines and transmissions does the Tata Curvv offer
1.2-litre T-GDI Turbo-petrol: This new engine introduced at the Auto Expo 2023 is still under development and is expected to be smoother and more powerful than Tata’s current turbo-petrol engine. It will generate 125 horsepower and may come with a 6-speed manual or optional dual-clutch automatic transmission.
1.5-litre Diesel: This engine is already used in the Tata Nexon and is also known for its strong performance at low speeds. In the Curve shown at the Auto Expo, this engine was paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, but the final version may offer an automatic transmission to attract more drivers.
